Sisters and Success in Southgate

Meet Ameela and Armani Covington, two sisters who turned their childhood dream into reality with the opening of The Gallery Beauty Supply in Southgate. Fueled by a love for beauty and a desire to create a space that celebrates diversity, these sisters combined their expertise in cosmetology and business to launch a store that truly represents their community.

With the help of a small business microloan from Michigan Women Forward, Ameela and Armani transformed their vision into a thriving business, using the funds to renovate their space, stock inventory, and open their doors in January 2023.

“It’s been such a blessing. The community has really embraced us,” Armani says. “I don’t know that we could have done it without Michigan Women Forward.”
