Health for Life Counseling: Care Built on Integrity

When Paul Krauss and his partner relocated to West Michigan, they noticed a gap in mental health care. Clinics focused largely on talk therapy — but few offered integrative, mind-body approaches like EMDR that address the root causes of trauma.

In 2017, they launched Health for Life Counseling in Grand Rapids with a simple belief: quality care, ethical practices, and fair pay for clinicians lead to better outcomes for everyone. As demand grew, so did the practice — and by 2021, they needed to expand to serve more clients and hire more providers.

Traditional lenders hesitated. MWF didn’t.

With MWF’s support, Health for Life Counseling secured the capital they needed to open an additional location and nearly double their capacity — while staying true to their mission of accessible, trauma-informed care.

Today, Health for Life Counseling is helping people across Michigan heal, grow, and build healthier lives.
