Supporting Women of Color

At MWF, we’re proud that 51% of our small business microloan clients are women of color.

Why does this matter? Women of color face significant barriers in entrepreneurship, including limited access to traditional funding and resources. Despite these challenges, they are among the fastest-growing groups of business owners in the U.S., driving innovation and economic growth in their communities.

By providing funding, mentorship, and technical assistance, MWF is helping to break down these barriers and create opportunities for women of color to succeed. These investments don’t just change lives —they build stronger, more equitable communities across Michigan.
