Making Dreams a Reality

For years, Erin Apacanis dreamed of opening a coffee shop to serve her favorite breakfast sandwiches and pastries. After retiring in 2023, she still lacked the capital and struggled to secure a bank loan.

That’s where Michigan Women Forward stepped in. With their support, Erin secured a small business loan to invest in her dream café, Simply Roasted, set to open in Detroit in January 2025.

“They really worked with me on my business plan and financials. They made it possible,” Erin says.
