Great businesses deserve great visibility. In honor of Black History Month, MWF is inviting the public to nominate and vote for a Black-owned business in Michigan that deserves to be In Focus.
The business that receives the most votes will win a professional photo session — capturing their product, service, space, and story.
Strong visuals aren’t a luxury. They help small businesses show up with confidence, tell their story clearly, and compete in a crowded marketplace. For many entrepreneurs, access to professional photography can make the difference between being overlooked and being taken seriously.
How It Works
- Nominate a Black-owned business based in Michigan
- Share and vote throughout February
- The business with the most nominations will receive a professional photo session at no cost.
- Voting closes: Feb. 28, 2026
- Winner announced: March 4, 2026
Eligibility & Voting Guidelines
- You can nominate multiple businesses, but you can only nominate a business one time.
- Businesses must be at least 50% Black-owned and based in Michigan. MWF reserves the right to verify eligibility before declaring a winner.
- Businesses can nominate themselves and promote their customers to nominate them.
- Businesses that offer a service can use their photography session for professional headshots.
