Bridging the Digital Divide – Southwest Detroit (2024), was a Michigan Women Forward six-month business training program sponsored by The Kresge Foundation and offered in partnership with the Southwest Detroit Business Association.
Program Details
This free six-month business education program led by Katrina Turnbow-Marion of Kanopi Social offered select Southwest Detroit businesses the chance to learn foundational knowledge to boost their businesses’ digital profiles. The program gave participants the tools to:
- Create a business website with online infrastructure setup
- Understand the landscape of digital marketing, including set up of accounts, strategy, reporting and sales
- Learn the digital platforms needed to grow your business
- Organize your digital assets and information
- Build your team roles and responsibilities
- Get your business online with a Google Business Profile
- Discover your audience
- Define your measurement plan
- Develop your online brand story
- Refine what you are selling and how to get discovered online
- Learn the fundamentals of Wave accounting
- Develop a content marketing plan
- Manage the logistics of running your business online
- Understand analytics and develop industry reports
PLUS! Engaged cohort learning program participants received a free tablet during the six-month program. Graduates of the program received a Certificate of Completion.
