Niki Timmons brings more than 30 years of finance and accounting leadership experience to her role as Vice President, Finance at Michigan Women Forward. Her career spans banking, government, nonprofit organizations, consulting, and the private sector, giving her a broad perspective on how strong financial strategy can help organizations grow, adapt, and deliver on their missions.

Throughout her career, Niki has held senior financial leadership roles overseeing budgeting, treasury operations, accounting, grants management, compliance, audits, financial reporting, and long-term fiscal planning. She has served as a CFO and finance director for organizations in both the public and private sectors and previously served as Deputy Chief Financial Officer/Treasurer for the City of Detroit, where she helped lead treasury operations during a pivotal period in the city’s financial history. She also spent more than a decade with Comerica Bank, building a strong foundation in commercial lending, treasury, and wealth management. Niki also served as a Comerica Ambassador, representing the bank locally and internationally at community and charitable events.

Niki is known for bringing clarity to complex financial challenges. Her experience includes strengthening internal controls, improving financial systems and processes, managing multimillion-dollar budgets and portfolios, and working closely with executive leaders and boards to translate financial information into sound organizational decisions.

She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Financial Accounting Reporting from the University of Michigan and has a Master of Science in Business.

Beyond her professional career, Niki is committed to strengthening opportunities for women, entrepreneurs, and the communities she serves. She serves on the Board of Directors of Women in Public Finance – Michigan Chapter and was selected as one of two 2026 State Ambassadors for Michigan with the national organization. In 2024, Niki founded an annual community health fair at her church in partnership with Detroit Medical Center and other healthcare providers, bringing health screenings, health education, resources, and healthcare professionals directly to the community.
