Day 4
Pietrzyk Pierogi: Reinventing a Detroit Classic

What started as homemade pierogi served at a Detroit bar quickly grew into a cult favorite — and then a national business. Founder Erica Pietrzyk turned her family recipe and her own resilience into a creative, joy-filled food company now shipping hand-pinched pierogi across the country.
When a surge of 150 new stores created a cash-flow crunch, an MWF microloan helped Erica invest in new systems, keep production moving, and meet demand without losing momentum.
“MWF came in clutch and helped us grow the way we needed to,” she says.
