Julie Hollinshead

Julie Hollinshead is president of Hollinshead Advisory Services LLC, a financial and investment consultancy that helps individuals, private foundations and nonprofit organizations navigate significant financial decisions and digitally organize all aspects of financial affairs to their advantage. Julie is also an adjunct finance professor at the Mike Illitch School of Business at Wayne State University where she teaches portfolio management and personal financial planning. Julie earned a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Tufts University and a master’s degree from The Johns Hopkins University.

Julie built a 30-year career guiding investments and creating wealth for high net worth individuals and families, companies, nonprofit organizations and foundations. She is a Chartered Financial Analyst, the highest professional designation recognized by the investment management industry. Julie has held key positions at Comerica Bank, Munder Capital Management, the Kresge Foundation (a $4 billion private, national foundation), and DeRoy & Devereaux, a registered investment advisor.

Julie is frequently invited to be an expert and speaker on personal finance and investment issues. Julie has been a member of the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Detroit since 2001. She is a trustee of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and serves on its Investment Committee. In addition to serving on the board of Michigan Women Forward, she serves on the Investment Committee of the D. Dan and Betty Kahn Foundation and served in the same capacity for The Children’s Foundation for nearly 10 years.

When not working, Julie enjoys reading, cooking, hiking, and attending concerts and cultural events.
