Therese has a broad resume that ranges from banking to beer, child welfare to senior living services, and adult education to hospice care, primarily in Human Resources. With a Bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree from Aquinas College, she swore to “never take another test again” after successfully completing her SPHR certification in 2010.

She has worn most HR hats at some point and has a special place in her heart for training and development. Based in Grand Rapids, Therese works behind the scenes supporting Michigan Women Forward’s development initiatives, from communicating with donors and entering deposits to managing guest lists for fundraising galas.

Once upon a time, Therese opened West Michigan’s first school of Irish step-dancing and hung up her shoes after over a decade of teaching to explore other hobbies. She and her husband raised two adults, a son in Grand Rapids and a daughter in Lakeland, FL (winter home of the Detroit Tigers!).

For years the Schneiders have called themselves a “crazy Disney family.” They
are always planning their next Orlando trip, unless they are heading off hiking somewhere or exploring the wonders of Europe. Adventure is out there!
