As the Technical Assistance Business Consultant at Michigan Women Forward, I have enjoyed seeing businesses grow over the past year and a half. I truly value the impact of our work and being part of the WEI (Women Entrepreneurial Initiative) Team. I’ve had the pleasure of speaking at the Let’s Get Your Business Funded W/ MWF workshop. Let’s Get your Business Funded w/ MWF, is a workshop that was offered last month in Detroit and this month in Grand Rapids. During the workshop, Micro Entrepreneurs learned about some of the lender requirements for when acquiring a loan. There was a focus on “How to write a Traditional Business plan” and what Financial Statements are needed. Entrepreneurs got a deep dive on the required elements within a traditional business plan; Executive Summary, Mission and Vision Statements, Company Description, Market and Industry Analysis, SWOT (Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) Analysis, Organization and Management, Marketing and Sales Strategies, Funding Request (Use of funds), and Financial Projections and statements (Profit and Loss Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Balance Sheet).
