Honoring Michigan’s female trailblazers.

The stories of women’s contributions to Michigan’s history inspire the women and girls of today and tomorrow.

CURRENTLY CLOSED DUE TO FLOOD. If you’d like to support the museum as we work to repair damages please consider donating here.

To honor these pioneers, MWF assumed responsibility of the Michigan Women’s Hall of Fame and Historical Center in 2018. We now commonly refer to the museum as HERstory, which is located downtown Lansing at 105 W Allegan Street (below Grand Traverse Pie) – 1 block in front of the Capitol! We are honored to have the privilege of telling the stories of Michigan women’s brilliance, talent, perseverance and achievement.

The HERstory museum is available as a meeting and event space for groups of up to 40 people. We have a great gift shop with lots of fun, feminist finds. Consider doing your holiday shopping here! We also have several eye-catching and informative traveling exhibits available for rent that would be a great addition to your local museum, school, or business.

Museum tours are typically available for walk-ins Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12-4:30pm. The museum is currently closed due to a flood. We are working hard to repair the physical space and condition report our collection but at this time have no definitive answers as to when we will re-open. Thank you for your understanding.
